This is an unusual flag because it has an inscription on the star in the center which reads “Presented by the Ladies of Anamosa” and includes the names of the ladies who sewed the flag on other stars on the canton. This flag, “The Anamosa Flag” has become one of the more popular in the collection.

The flag is a U.S. national and measures 97 inches tall by 57.75 inches wide. The canton is blue wool with 34 five-pointed stars. The stars are white cotton, appliqued in two concentric rings, with one star in each corner and one large star in the center. The center star on the reverse lists the company designation. There are 13 stripes, 7 red and 6 white, connected by .125 to .675 inch seams. Brass grommets on the hoist end are connected by red tabs below canton and alternating red and white tabs in canton area. A red cord runs the edge seams.
